Dr Philip Parry BSc (Hons) Chiro, MSc Chiro (Paeds), Dip.child.psy, MMCA, FCC. Chiropractor
Dr. Parry graduated from The McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordfordshire, England in 2004 following a five-year BSc (Hons) degree and has since completed a three-year MSc in Chiropractic Paediatrics along with a diploma in Child Development Psychology.
Chiropractic is a branch of medicine that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of certain mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and their effects on general health and is a registered primary health care profession.
Lower back pain is reported by about 80% of people in some point of their life and musculoskeletal conditions such as lower back pain, neck pain and headaches are the most common reasons for hospital consultations (UK Department of Health 2006) and the majority of these cases can be diagnosed and treated by a Chiropractic Doctor. In a recent study it was found that Chiropractic treatment was 30% more effective than hospital outpatient management, mainly for patients with chronic or severe back pain (UK General Chiropractic Council 2008). In fact 85% of back pain is due to mechanical dysfunction which a chiropractor is able to diagnose and correct whereas less than 15% of all back pain is actually due to a specific cause (European commission 2004).
Dr Parry’s treatment is extremely gentle; there is no ‘cracking of bones’ and the chiropractic assessment and detailed neurological examination on each visit coupled with adjusting precision leads to maximum sustainable clinical outcomes.
Dr. Parry is bilingual in both Thai and English and utilises his primary health care skills for the benefit of some of the poorer children in Thailand and is an active board member of Kids Ark Thailand, a Foundation providing support for a large number of hill tribe children in the North of Thailand. His gentle chiropractic techniques have made him a frequently requested practitioner, and his complete understanding of Chiropractic makes his diagnostic ability a valued resource for patients and referring medical doctors alike.
